TMA Workshop – Teen Workshop. Teen artists will explore a variety of mediums and work closely with innovative local teaching artists. With mentorship and socialization at the forefront, they’ll learn about different paths in art while developing their skills and experimenting with new techniques. Supplies Included. This class is select Tuesdays, 6-8 PM, May 13, May 27, Aug 5, Aug 26 (4 classes) at the Firehouse Cultural Center.

Studio 55: Collage with Mary Correa -TMA@Firehouse. Join Mary Correa for an 8-week exploration of collage. Learn the basics of collage assembly and then explore how these basics apply to your art style. This workshop is full of techniques for everyone – novice, intermediate or advanced artists.- attend at The Firehouse in Ruskin. Click through for Tuition details. May 4 – Jul 6 (8 classes).

Art Play Date – TMA@Firehouse- Select Saturdays. Make a date with your little one and create together. This course will explore art-making for ages 4 to 11. It’s a chance for children and their caregivers to make collaborative work together inspired by works on view at the Tampa Museum of Art. Forget fridge-worthy; create memories & art with a special place in your heart and on your wall. Each registration covers 1 caregiver artist + 1 child artist. Supplies Included. Select Saturdays 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, May 10, June 14, July 12, Aug 9 (4 classes) at The Firehouse Cultural Center.

Remix TMA@Firehouse. Remix* TMA@Firehouse: Remix is a series of make-and-take art workshops for adults inspired by the Museum’s current exhibitions with a new project every month. Workshops are designed to be enjoyed by participants of any skill level and all materials are provided. Attend class at The Firehouse Cultural Center. Ages 18 and up. Select Saturdays, May 24 through Aug 23, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. (4 classes).

Figure Drawing Group. Once a month for the summer, 2nd Thursday of the month in June, July, Aug. For a Thursday session, starting June 12, 2025, look through the Figure Drawing Landing Page. Strengthen your skills in our monitored figure drawing session with a variety of timed poses. Bring your chalk, paint, charcoal or pencil, you choose the medium! Model varies by session.

Intro to Pottery Discover the joy of working with clay in this beginner-friendly pottery class! This course will guide you through the basics of hand-building, wheel-throwing, and glazing techniques. These 6 sessions give you a great base in learning how to create functional and decorative pieces, and understand the firing process. No experience necessary. Wednesdays, 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. May 7 – June 11.

Homeschool Clay Session Get your hands dirty and your creativity flowing in this fun and interactive 3-session pottery series designed just for kids! In this beginner-friendly class, young artists will explore the basics of working with clay through hand-building techniques and get an introduction to the pottery wheel.

NEW DATES! Intro to Pottery Wheel Discover the joy of working with clay in this hands-on, beginner-friendly course focused on the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Over six weeks, you’ll learn how to center clay, pull walls, and shape basic forms like bowls, mugs, and cylinders. We’ll also cover trimming, surface decoration, and glazing techniques so you can finish and fire your own unique pieces. Saturdays, 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. June 7 – July 19 (no class July 5).

Toucan: Acrylic Painting Workshop 18 inch by 18 inch painting surface, acrylics. Welcome to the Jungle! For any level of painter. You’ll be taken step by step through all techniques needed to create this bright painting. Instructor is Debbie Goode, all materials supplied, including canvas! Tuesday June 17th, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch break. This class will be at the FCC ANNEX.

Mastering Still Life Drawing: Measurements and Composition This two-session workshop is designed for beginners to intermediates. Those who want to will improve their ability to draw still life scenes accurately and confidently. Each session focuses on foundational techniques for observing, measuring, and rendering objects in a realistic and compelling way. Mondays, June 23 and June 30 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.

Try Your Hand – A One-Time Art Experience – July 21 and July 28Create the Landscape of your imagination: Use references to build dimensional mountains, fields, and meadows. Explore atmosphere through color and shape. Develop techniques to evoke emotions in your scenery. Evoke a specific atmosphere in landscape. Instructor: Helen Solomon.
