Strengthen your skills in our monitored figure drawing session with a variety of timed poses. Bring your chalk, paint, charcoal or pencil, you choose the medium! Model varies by session.

• Intro to Wheel Throwing Students learn the basics of wheel throwing by forming and throwing simple shapes on the potter’s wheel. More advanced students will build upon the basics to create larger, more advanced projects. Discover varying throwing techniques, forms and glazing.
Materials & firings included. Age 18 to Adult. One time or 4 visits package.

• TMA Workshop – Teen Workshop – Oct 15. Teen artists (Ages 12-17) will explore a variety of mediums and work closely with innovative local teaching artists. With mentorship and socialization at the forefront, they’ll learn about different paths in art while developing their skills and experimenting with new techniques.
Supplies Included. This class is Tuesday, October 15, 6-8 PM, Firehouse Cultural Center.

• TMA Workshop – Teen Workshop – Nov 12. Teen artists (Ages 12-17) will explore a variety of mediums and work closely with innovative local teaching artists. With mentorship and socialization at the forefront, they’ll learn about different paths in art while developing their skills and experimenting with new techniques.
Supplies Included. This class is Tuesday, November 12, 6-8 PM, Firehouse Cultural Center.

• Studio 55: Bookmaking with Mary Gail -TMA@Firehouse. Studio 55 is for adults 55 and older to connect over art and artmaking. Create your own book in this class. Draw, paint, or, write inside of your creation! Share it with your classmates. Saturdays, 1 – 4 pm. Sept 7 – Nov 2 *no class Sept 28 (8 classes) – attend at The Firehouse in Ruskin. • Clay Warriors Pottery Programs Working with clay is a healthy way to focus your attention in a positive and creative way. • Orchestral Strings Studio Private one-on-one lesson! Private instruction is available for violin, viola, cello, bass and theory. Classes are available at the Annex and Firehouse Cultural Center.

• Home School: Kids Clay Experience Day Kids can get dirty and not be in trouble! Make a project that will be glazed and fired. Plus be introduced to the wheel.
Tuesday, Oct 15. Ages 7 and Up will be 1:00 to 2:00 pm.

Firehouse Cultural Center in partnership with Patel Conservatory @Straz Center presents: Drama/Comedy Theater for Kids This Free program will start Thursday, Sept. 12 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Schedule follows Hillsborough School Calendar. This program will conclude with “Show Off Production” for all to see. Limited Space for ages 8 – 15. Free Programming provided by Patel Conservatory. Underwritten by The Straz.

• Metalsmithing for Kids: Texture & Stamp & Rivet – Sept 25 Metalsmithing for Kids! You: Hammer, Stamp & Texture, Copper & Brass to manufacture Rings, Pendants, Keychains. Rivet metals together to create your unique works of Art. 6 Participants per Workshop. Ages 8 & UP. All Materials Supplied. Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 10:00 – 11:30 am.
