“A Time for Truth” will encompass the history of the non-fiction genre in American literature as well as the importance of such other fact-based writing styles such as essays, editorials and short stories.
This is a multi-level class for anyone who would like to explore acrylic painting. Work with representational painting, abstraction and collage while improving skills with color, composition and techniques. A fun, flexible class for all students.
Students will learn and explore: color (complementary colors, analogous colors, the chromatic richness of neutrals); brush strokes (from flat and variegated washes to dancing with your brushes); techniques (from wet-into-wet to spattering, pouring, spraying, stenciling, scrubbing).

Understanding Poetry by John Davis Jr. will help participants derive meaning from poems old and new. In this presentation, essential elements of poetry such as rhyme, meter, and diction will be examined, and participants will learn common forms of poems.
Poetry Writing by John Davis Jr. will allow participants to experiment with various methods for creating verses. Poetic forms will be examined, and different ways to derive inspiration will also be explored. Through this workshop, participants will be able to construct, revise, and submit poems of their own for potential publication.
