3
Tuesday, January 29, 2019 – Tuesday, March 5, 2019
10:00 am – 11:30 am
During these six sessions you will have the opportunity to write in the many varied styles of non-fiction, from memoir, to history, to current events and persuasive essays, with a dash of journalism. Your writing will be based in truth, reality, and facts...it will be your view of your life, of the world, based on your experiences.
Poetry Writing by John Davis Jr. will allow participants to experiment with various methods for creating verses. Poetic forms will be examined, and different ways to derive inspiration will also be explored. Through this workshop, participants will be able to construct, revise, and submit poems of their own for potential publication.
Ken Carlyle, T.J Weger, Eric "Flycatcher" Carlson, Don Cox, and Joe Martin - provide an infectious mix of original and classic songs deeply rooted in the styles of Western Swing, Bluegrass, Americana and Zydeco. Somewhere near the intersection of ‘Bon Ton Roulet’ and the ‘Clinch Mountain Back Step’, you will find the Cowboys serving up their musical gumbo.
