The Tom Hamilton Quartet

Saturday, November 23, 2019, 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

Location: Firehouse Cultural Center

Event type: Firehouse Pub

The Tom Hamilton Quartet is led by Tampa Bay Area bassist Tom “TBone” Hamilton. As the leader of several projects, the Quartet is a group that is dedicated to performing straight ahead jazz in the concert setting. After establishing himself as a top 1st call blues bassist, Tom wanted to expand his musical vocabulary and started studying and performing Jazz music. “I really love playing Jazz music because it affords you the freedom to create in the moment,” explains the bassist. As co-leader of his former band, The Hamilton Harris Project, he produced the live CD titled “Live Matters”. The album contains songs from the great American Songbook.

Tom is excited to bring his dynamic band to the Firehouse Cultural Center for a One Night Only Show. The band members united for this performance will include Chaz Slick playing the vibraphone – the vibes are a super cool instrument, and, in the hands of this master, he will certainly make the music swing; On jazz guitar is longtime musical partner Dan Harris (TBone Hamilton’s Big Easy Revue); Rounding out the band is the inimitable Ken Loomer (Ken Loomer Big Band) on drums. It promises to be a swinging night of instrumental jazz.
