Stacey Knights is a wonderful vocalist who also plays flute and all of the saxes. She’s an award winning smooth jazz pop artist with 3 albums to her credit and has been entertaining in the Tampa Bay area for the past 20 years. Chances are you’ve heard her as a solo performer in various restaurants and hotels or have enjoyed her band in downtown St. Petersburg during the “WSJT Get Downtown First Friday” block party and at other public performances.

One evening while playing with Stacey Knights, Chuck Weirich and her keyboardist Robin Foreman, began talking about their love for Herb Alpert’s music. Chuck had learned to play trumpet in the mid 60’s while listening and trying to copy Herb Alpert. Always wanting to have custom tracks (without the trumpet part) to perform with, Chuck asked Robin about sequencing some of Herb’s tunes, making them as authentic as possible. This project began as a thing of just “wanting some great tunes to play” and blossomed into the making of “You Don’t Know Me” in March of 2010. Some fourteen months later the album is complete, on the internet as of June 20th with various retailers and is available for purchase on-line and from Chuck.
