About Greg Diamond:

“On the Solo recording he mixes originals with gorgeous renditions of standards such as Scarborough Fair and Shenandoah, and on Beata he repeats this with a magnificently profound version of El Condor Pasa. This version of that timeless song distilled down to a trio version after its orchestral musical piece from the zarzuela El Cóndor Pasa by the Peruvian composer Daniel Alomía Robles, written in 1913. (Full Moon in Memphis 2015)”
— From Latin Jazz Network, Review of “Beata”

Greg Diamond is a jazz guitarist known for his innovative and soulful approach to music. With his impassioned performances and distinctive sound, Diamond has established himself as a prominent figure in the contemporary jazz scene.
Latin Jazz Network calls Diamond a “composer of great maturity and genius” while Acoustic Guitar magazine touts his “deep harmonic language and an unerring sense of groove”. Diamond has forcefully stepped into the spotlight in recent years as an innovator with a distinct brand of Latin-infused contemporary jazz.

Born in New York City to a musical family, Diamond draws his influence from an eclectic palette. Diamond’s father, a Julliard-trained classical pianist and opera singer, exposed Diamond to the rich sounds of Rachmaninov, Chopin, Bach, and Puccini, while his mother spinned the vibrant tropical sounds of cumbia legends Lucho Bermúdez and Pacho Galán from the turntable at family gatherings. Diamond has a DMA in Instrumental Jazz Performance from the University of Miami and currently resides in the city of Miami.

Diamond has performed with his group at numerous premier venues, such as The Blue Note New York, Iridium, Joe’s Pub, Smalls, Zinc Bar, Nublu, Jimmy Glass Jazz Club, and many more; as well several jazz festivals, most notably The Madrid International Jazz Festival, and more.
