Assemblage Workshop

Saturday, November 9, 2019 – Saturday, November 16, 2019, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

Location: Firehouse Cultural Center

Event type: Workshops & Classes

Found objects are often linked to associations and memories. What is it in human nature that makes us pick up broken pits of pottery or a rusty piece of tin? Do they connect to some past experience or tease our imagination? And what happens when we start to put these pieces together to tell a new story? Join us to create your own art-boxes stories and found object sculptures.

Bring your imagination, curiosity and a sense of play, as we will be working with an assortment of provided objects and those that students bring to class.

Suggestions:

  • Bring an old wooden box (about the size of a cigar box) or something similar.
  • Start collecting your bits and pieces! The more you have the more possibilities.
