An Iliad
Friday, January 17, 2014 – Sunday, January 19, 2014
Fri & Sat: 8pm | Sun: 2pm
Location: Firehouse Cultural Center
Event type: Firehouse Theater
“Every time I sing this song, I hope it’s the last time.”
So says The Poet as he digs deep to sing Homer’s epic story of war, honor, violence and the Greek siege of the city of Troy. He’s told this story for centuries, conjuring the heroes and battles for different cultures and eras. Now in the shadow of modern wars, he unleashes the story’s power for a modern audience. Has anything really changed since the Trojan War?
The Gorilla Theatre, established 20 years ago and an indispensable part of Tampa Bay’s cultural life, brings this theatrical event to the Firehouse Cultural Center.
