Acrylic Experience

Instructor: Helen Solomon

Explore acrylic media and techniques more in-depth study of acrylics, aesthetics, and medium. Students will talk about their work and the work of others in the classroom critiques at the start each class. This class is for all levels, heighten your skills or find your hidden talent.

Five Weeks, Two hour Class per week: Tuesdays, 9:30 – 11:30 am

Acrylic Class Supply List

The following checklist is designed to help you with the purchase of some or all the art supplies you might need. If you have supplies from a previous class, please bring them and then we can decide if you need to purchase other items.

Stretched Canvas or Canvas Board 11×14
***NOTE make sure that the canvas is Acrylic Primed.
12 or 24 Acrylic Paint Liquitex heavy body brand to start with. But if you prefer a better brand, Windsor & Newton is one of the best. One Extra tube of Titanium White.
Plastic Palette Knives. They come in different shapes and sizes, diamond, thin diamond, flat, scraper and trowel.
Do not spend too much on brushes. You can purchase a set of “W.A. PORTMAN LTD” on Amazon for a reasonable price. Included in the set, a flat in different sizes, filbert, and round in different sizes and the CASE.
Disposable Palette pads are preferable, 9×12. or disposable plates from Walmart.
Other items, pencils including white charcoal pencil, graphite # H & 6B, art gum eraser and 18” clear plastic ruler and a plastic container for water and paper towels. If you have any acrylic supplies from a previous class, please bring them. If you have watercolor brushed, they can also be used for Acrylics.
