Studio 55 is for adults 55 and older to connect over art and artmaking. This is TMA’s participation in the Vitality Arts Project for Art Museums funded by EA Michelson Philanthropy to promote the work of anti-ageism in our community and industry. While building a community of artists, students will learn new techniques, develop artistic skills, and create their own impressionist-inspired masterpieces. Free 8-week class, Wednesdays 10:00 am – 1:00 pm to October 18th – December 13th. No class Nov. 22.

Misery, by William Goldman, based on the novel by Stephen King. Misery follows romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character. Orilla, the highly creative and culturally diverse musical duo co-led by Ona Kirei (vocals/keys/percussion) and Alejandro Arenas (upright and electric bass) celebrates the release of their debut album ‘Daring Flowers’. They will be joined by Mark Feinman (drums) and James Suggs (trumpet) as they play through an exciting repertoire rooted in styles as diverse as their backgrounds. Create art using various types of stained glass and ceramic tiles. Learn the safe and proper techniques for cutting glass using wheeled nippers, running pliers, and other various glass cutting tools. Learning to use a glass grinder to shape glass will be taught. Students will explore different substrates such as wood or cement steppingstones. Methods for this class will include demonstrations, hands on practice, and one-on-one coaching from the instructor.
