BOOK FOR THE MONTH! Learn the basics of how to form clay through pinching, coil building, and working with slabs. Combine these forming methods together to make some fun shapes! Students should expect to make several pieces using these techniques. With introduction of wheel throwing. Clay, tools, glazing and firing included. Thursdays: 9:30am – 11:30am Adults. Students learn the basics of wheel throwing by forming and throwing simple shapes on the potter’s wheel. More advanced students will build upon the basics to create larger, more advanced projects. Discover varying throwing techniques, forms and glazing.
Materials & firings included. Age 18 to Adult.

You’ll learn to Saw & Cut Brass, Copper & Silver, then Texture and Stamp design into your Art while exploring the craft of Metalsmithing. Saturday, Sept. 23rd from 9:30 – Noon. For ages 16 and up.

An accomplished jazz saxophonist, Jack Wilkins has 7 CD’s out, including the newest release on Chronograph Records titled “The Rundle Sessions.” This follows “The Banff Project”, a collection of Wilkins compositions with original films by Edwin Dennis and others. Jack is also the Director of the Jazz Studies Program at the University of South Florida. At USF he teaches courses in jazz improvisation, jazz styles and analysis, teaches applied jazz performance and directs the USF Jazztet, an internationally acclaimed student jazz ensemble that has performed at many European jazz festivals. He will be joined by James Suggs and La Lucha. Saturday, Sept 23 at 7:30 pm.
