The TBone Hamilton Band returns to the Firehouse! Tom “TBone” Hamilton is a renowned bassist, vocalist, and producer. He has left a mark on the blues, jazz, and Americana music scenes in the Tampa Bay. With a career spanning over three decades, he is equally adept at leading his own bands or serving as a sideman for national and international touring artists. • TMA Workshop – Teen Workshop. Teen artists will explore a variety of mediums and work closely with innovative local teaching artists. With mentorship and socialization at the forefront, they’ll learn about different paths in art while developing their skills and experimenting with new techniques. Supplies Included. This class is select Tuesdays, 6-8 PM, May 13, May 27, Aug 5, Aug 26 (4 classes) at the Firehouse Cultural Center.
• Studio 55: Collage with Mary Correa -TMA@Firehouse. Join Mary Correa for an 8-week exploration of collage. Learn the basics of collage assembly and then explore how these basics apply to your art style. • Art Play Date – TMA@Firehouse- Select Saturdays. Make a date with your little one and create together. This course will explore art-making for ages 4 to 11. It’s a chance for children and their caregivers to make collaborative work together inspired by works on view at the Tampa Museum of Art. Forget fridge-worthy; create memories & art with a special place in your heart and on your wall. Each registration covers 1 caregiver artist + 1 child artist. Supplies Included. • Remix TMA@Firehouse. Remix* TMA@Firehouse: Remix is a series of make-and-take art workshops for adults inspired by the Museum’s current exhibitions with a new project every month. Workshops are designed to be enjoyed by participants of any skill level and all materials are provided. Attend class at The Firehouse Cultural Center. Ages 18 and up. Strengthen your skills in our monitored figure drawing session with a variety of timed poses. Bring your chalk, paint, charcoal or pencil, you choose the medium! Model varies by session.
Adult Pottery For a Tuesday or Thursday session, starting March, 2025, look through the Adult Pottery Landing Page. Call 813-645-7651 or book online. 9:30 am – Noon, on Tuesdays or Thursdays, March 2025 – Dec 18, 2025. Will be at FCC Annex building starting March 2025.
Learn the basics of how to form clay through pinching, coil building, and working with slabs. Combine these forming methods together to make some fun shapes! Students should expect to make several pieces using these techniques. With introduction of wheel throwing. Clay, tools, glazing and firing included.
• Paint it Your Way: Watercolor Or Acrylic. Your Choice! Share the love of painting while enriching your skill set, no matter the medium. Instructor: Helen Solomon. Mondays, April 28 – June 9, 2025, Time: 1:30 – 3:30 pm. Six (6) week class. No class May 26. This Class will be in the FCC Annex.
• Intro to Pottery Discover the joy of working with clay in this beginner-friendly pottery class! This course will guide you through the basics of hand-building, wheel-throwing, and glazing techniques. These 6 sessions give you a great base in learning how to create functional and decorative pieces, and understand the firing process. No experience necessary. Wednesdays, 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. May 7 – June 11.
• NEW DATES! Intro to Pottery Wheel Discover the joy of working with clay in this hands-on, beginner-friendly course focused on the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Over six weeks, you’ll learn how to center clay, pull walls, and shape basic forms like bowls, mugs, and cylinders. We’ll also cover trimming, surface decoration, and glazing techniques so you can finish and fire your own unique pieces. Saturdays, 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. June 7 – July 19 (no class July 5).
• Cactus Gardens Glass Fusing Workshop – May 6 You choose your pattern and colors in creating your colorful glass creation. This 4 x 6 glass art will brighten any room or window. All Skill Levels Welcome, and all Materials Supplied. Tuesday, May 6th from 10:00 – 11:30 am. This class will be in the FCC ANNEX.
