Strengthen your skills in our monitored figure drawing session with a variety of timed poses. Bring your chalk, paint, charcoal or pencil, you choose the medium. Model varies by session.

• Intro to Wheel Throwing Students learn the basics of wheel throwing by forming and throwing simple shapes on the potter’s wheel. More advanced students will build upon the basics to create larger, more advanced projects. Discover varying throwing techniques, forms and glazing.
Materials & firings included. Age 18 to Adult. One time or 4 visits package.

• Studio 55 | Mixed Media Collage with Susan | TMA@Firehouse Studio 55 is the new community programming sponsored by Tampa Museum of Art for adults 55 and older to connect over art and artmaking.
Mixed Media Collage is an eight-week course full of artistic experimentation with mixed techniques and embellishment.
This class is Sundays, 1 – 4 pm. May 12 – June 30 (8 classes) – attend at The Firehouse in Ruskin..

• Drama/Comedy Theater for Kids Firehouse Cultural Center in partnership with Patel Conservatory @Straz Center presents: Drama/Comedy Theater for Kids.
Free Event: Wednesdays, Sept. 13 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Schedule follows Hillsborough School Calendar. This program will conclude with “Show Off Production” for all to see. • Clay Warriors Pottery Programs Working with clay is a healthy way to focus your attention in a positive and creative way. • Pottery 101 You will learn the fundamental techniques of Pottery, slip, score, coil, design, carve and glaze. Instructors guide you to transform raw clay into Art. You will progressively enhance your skills over four weeks. Provides the foundation to continue your pottery pathway. Age 18 to adult. Package of 4 classes. Fridays, 9:30 – 11:30 am, beginning Friday Feb 9, 2024.

• Florida Christmas – Auditions! Come and be a part of the original new musical! Principle roles and ensemble! Singers and dancers ages 8 – 25. AUDITIONS: April 21, 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Performances will be: July 20th and 21st! A new original musical “Florida Christmas” is casting for production at Firehouse Culture Center. Sunday, April 21, 2:00 – 5:00 pm..

• Mom & Me Clay Day
Kids can get dirty and not be in trouble! Make several projects that will be fired and be introduced to the wheel. All materials included. Fee: $20 per child, must be accompanied by adult. Ages 3 and up. Tuesday, April 23, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

• Paint it Your Way: Watercolor or Acrylic Your Choice! Share the love of painting while enriching your skill set, no matter the medium. Instructor: Helen Solomon. Mondays, April 29 – June 10, 2024. No Class Memorial Day. Time: 1:30 – 3:30 pm.

• Metalsmithing For Kids! – May 3 You: Hammer, Stamp & Texture, Copper & Brass to manufacture Rings, Pendants, Keychains. Rivet metals together to create your unique works of Art. 6 Participants per Workshop. Ages 8 & UP. Ideal for homeschool. All Materials Supplied. Instructor: Kate Hamilton. Friday, May 3 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm.

• Metalsmithing Bracelet or Pendant – May 4 Create either a cuff bracelet or pendant. You: Hammer, Stamp & Texture, Copper & Brass to manufacture Rings, Pendants, Keychains. Rivet metals together to create your unique works of Art. All Materials Supplied. Saturday, May 4 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm.

• Metalsmithing: No Wilt Flower Medallions- Kids. Mother’s Day Special: Your flower medallions will blossom, made out of brass & copper! Texture and rivet silver accent pieces to personalize your design. Make 2 floral medallions that can be worn as pendants, brooches or made into keychains. All Materials Supplied. Instructor: Kate Hamilton. Kids 8 & Up: Friday, May 3 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm.
