Sara Peattie is a puppet artist and puppeteer living and working in Boston. She was a member of the touring troupe Bread & Puppet Theatre, and has been a puppet designer, builder and community performer for 30 years. She creates puppets for parades, pageants and community extravaganzas and for such events as the Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival in New York, First Night Boston and many other major event celebrations around the country.

“Puppetry has an extraordinary range of traditions, styles, and possibilities. It can involve writing, sculpture, building, painting, music, movement, and more. It can deal with anything from complete realism to pure abstraction. This residency is an attempt to show how very simple materials can create an entrance into this strange world.”
