Gloria Paulova Valdivia Reynoso, Director at the Centro de Arte y Terrapia “Matisse,” is a multimedia artist working with print, ceramics, and digital photography. Frida Echegaray Monnet, Professor at the Centro de Arte y Terrapia “Matisse,” works with print, ceramics, and art restoration. Both currently live and work in Arequipa, Peru.

Artist Led Workshops

Visual Dialogue

Tuesday, November 14, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

This is a lively approach to exploring a creative dialogue between couples or friends. Participants work in pairs, one begins by putting a stain of color on canvas that communicates something and the other answers using color according to what the first has done, thus creating a start to a visual dialogue. Wine & cheese will be served.

Instructor: Gloria Valdivia Reynoso. Materials provided. Workshop is limited to 15 pairs. Adults.

My Emotions to Light — Linocut Prints

Wednesday, November 15, 3:00 – 5:30 p.m.

This workshop is appropriate for students of all levels. Excellent opportunity for Professional Development Hours for teachers. Participants get to know themselves as they express what they feel by representing themselves as an animal, a plant, an object, or an emotion, to be captured in linocut prints.

Expressiveness of Line in Art

Friday, November 17, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

This workshop will awaken positive emotions, enhance concentration and creativity. Learn a special technique of drawing, moving designs to glass, applying relief and using glass paint. This activity is lots of fun and reduces stress.
