Ken Loomer Big Band

Sunday, October 7, 2018, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Location: Firehouse Cultural Center

Event type: Firehouse Pub

“I think the greatest thing about my Big Band is that here is a collection of players who ‘get it’. Not only do they get all the basics of, and have passion for jazz, but they also get the concept that they are individual voices that work with all the other individual voices to create a single, cohesive sound of the fabulous KEN LOOMER BIG BAND.” — Ken Loomer

The Ken Loomer Big Band is BIG with 15 musicians! Their goal is to keep the art of jazz music alive. Their song performances come from some of their own original works and from the Great American Songbook with music created by jazz icons such as Count Basie and Buddy Rich.

Ken Loomer has been playing the drums for over 40 years. His first job as a drummer was playing the drums for the trumpet musician Clark Terry. Loomer is originally from Hartford, Connecticut. Loomer performed in many theater shows in New Haven, Connecticut before going to Broadway in New York. Ken Loomer now resides in Florida.
