Gary Tatlock & Rich “Sticks” Porlides: Jazz Improvisation

Friday, October 4, 2013, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Location: Firehouse Cultural Center

Event type: Firehouse Pub

The Firehouse Pub opens with a surprising evening of “Jazz Improv.” Gary began his career at age five, singing and playing toy guitar in Indiana for pocket change. Gary prefers music that happens by accident, without analysis or intention. He is a jazz virtuoso, teacher, composer and sound engineer who has performed in LA, Japan, Hawaii, Indiana and Florida. Rich started playing bongos at age 3, first guitar age 5, saw RINGO at age 7 and that was it. At 14, Rich started a Rock band. He played with N.J. Blues band Gutbucket and later joined the Blues and Jazz scene in Tampa. Returning to his rock and roll roots, he has played with the legendary southern rock band Foolstar for 20 years.
