Learn about sustainability and conservation; try new, fresh foods and recipes. We will also grow plants for eating, cooking, creating, and sharing in the new FCC garden. We’ll experiment with a wide variety of veggies, herbs and flowers growing in everything from straw bales to tires to homemade garden beds. Digging in the dirt and caring for plants is a wonderful way to have fun, learn and connect to each other and our shared natural world.

Photography & Post Production Workshop

Photographer/Educator Jim Reiman will be teaching Photography & Postproduction this Spring at the Firehouse Cultural Center. The six week workshop will discuss the ways in which you can manipulate your camera’s manual settings to achieve optimal photographic results. The workshop will also cover how to create seamless panoramas, RAW file processing, HDR, retouching and preparation for print production.

Students will refine their star quality as they develop stage presence and self-confidence while working on voice projection, scene studies, and rehearsal and performance skills. They will be introduced to improvisation techniques, monologues, and character development while preparing them to audition and perform.

5 Week workshop with USF Mechanical Engineering graduate Riley Trumble, will be teaching students to assemble circuits and simple coding (programming) to make a tiny computer, an “Arduino Micro Controller”, do simple things with light and sound. This class, combining electronic circuits and coding, will be the first in a series of more advanced classes, exploring more advanced projects! Electronic Starter Kit, with an Arduino Micro Controller, and instruction book with 11 different projects for students to do at home is included.
